Are you using one of the recent dev builds? I've tried both templates with the Alpha 54 and 49 and had no issue whatsoever (on the other hand when I tried with the last year's dev build the training camp template froze upon loading)
I believe that's the thing mate. It's very old by now, that's why everyone at this point should be using the developer build of the engine. Download one of the recent CE v.1.11 ALPHA builds (I'm running ALPHA 54 rn) from github. Had no problems with them whatsoever, all stable so far.

Oh! I had no idea there was more up-to-date builds. I was just using the latest version of EFPSE from the Itch.io page, and thought that was the most recent version. Thanks for this!

Late to the party but big hearty thanks TJ, both templates are fantastic. The wintery one with lots of soldiers is pretty challenging (I died A LOT but it wasn't unfair, I just never learn I keep going all guns blazing lol). Yeah, lots of fun, hope I'll be able to learn a thing or two from them.You're a true pillar of the EFPSE community and an inspiration. Last but not least, looking forward to your future projects, videos and to hopefully seeing your own brand new game here and/or on Steam one day! All the best, MBP

I am using v1.10.5 and getting this exact crash when trying to open the project.
